We have been a builder in Cape Town for 30 years and we have built and renovated multiple houses in the upper end of the market, in the following areas in Cape Town - Constantia, and in Ruyteplaats, Avignon and Stoneybrook private security estates in Hout Bay, Cape Town, which were sold varyingly within 6 and 36 months after completion, at high margins.
Preiss & Preiss has just completed (late 2009) the architecture work and building of two separate building projects, one in Avignon security estate in Hout Bay, and the other in Stoneybrook security estate in Hout Bay.
In addition we are performing building quality assurance and other consulting to NHBRC standards at a hotel development in Muizenberg as of December 2009.
Our Fees
Typically we charge a percentage of the cost of the building. How this works is as follows. We aim for a 15% fee as a ruls of thumb starting point. This is based on a typical house in a security estate, however this does vary on the following basis.
- If you have a simple house design, our percentage will come down, sometimes to 10%.
- If your house isn't particularly complicated to build but you decide to use very expensive fittings or finishes, we do not load the price just because your house price is more expensive.
- If your house is complex to build, we will have to charge a little more than 15%.
All of this is negotiable, and we invite you to consult with us at no charge to arrive at a quote. We are confident that our price structure and quality and timescales will be highly competitive in the market. We keep our pricing structure completely transparent, as well as the price of materials and labour.
